FIH fully complies with all local wastewater discharge regulations. All wastewater undergoes rigorous characterization, monitoring, control, and treatment prior to discharge or disposal. We ensure system stability and regulatory compliance through continuous daily monitoring. Furthermore, our facilities are equipped with advanced wastewater treatment infrastructure designed to reduce pollutant concentrations to levels that meet or exceed regulatory mandates. In regions where local regulations are less defined, we conduct monitoring at least once a month to ensure all discharges align with applicable legal and environmental standards.
As of 2023, we achieved a 100% implementation rate for industrial wastewater discharge water quality monitoring systems. Industrial wastewater is treated using specialized vacuum distillation systems, with the operational integrity of these systems subject to regular and systematic audits.
Using 2020 as our base year, FIH set a target to reduce water intensity by 6% by 2025. We have surpassed this target ahead of schedule, achieving an actual reduction of 34%. In 2024, we enhanced our monitoring capabilities by installing specialized effluent meters. This advancement has significantly improved the precision of our water data; consequently, the more accurate measurements reflect a 105.75% increase in absolute water consumption compared to the previous year. Building on this foundation of enhanced data accuracy and the successful achievement of our initial intensity target, the Group is currently reviewing and recalibrating our future water management objectives.
Looking ahead, FIH remains steadfast in its commitment to further reducing water consumption through policy enforcement, system optimization, and operational excellence. We are actively scaling water reclamation and recycling initiatives, which have already been integrated into several manufacturing sites. These efforts are central to our strategy of minimizing the environmental footprint of our global operations.
