Conserving Natural Ecosystems and Biodiversity
Protecting natural ecosystems and biodiversity is a critical priority for FIH. To minimize the impact of our operations on the surrounding environment, all our manufacturing sites are strategically located away from designated biological reserves and protected areas. Each site is equipped with standardized waste storage facilities and certified chemical warehouses to prevent environmental contamination.
As an integral member of Hon Hai Technology Group, we strictly adhere to the "Hon Hai Technology Group Biodiversity and No Deforestation Commitment." We actively respond to the UN Convention on Biological Diversity (UNCBD), comply with forestry regulations in all operating regions, and strive toward the goal of zero deforestation.
Eco-Friendly Habitats at the Fushan Site
The FIH Fushan site in Vietnam has launched an innovative initiative to build animal nesting habitats using recycled materials generated from its operations. This program includes the installation of birdhouses and shelters, providing safe spaces for local small wildlife within the facility grounds.
By repurposing recycled plastics and reclaimed wood, the site not only achieves waste reduction but also fosters the coexistence of industrial activities with the local ecology. These habitats support multiple species, contribute to a healthier ecosystem, and promote the concept of sustainable development within the local community.
Wetland Conservation Initiatives
In 2024, FIH collaborated with Hon Hai Technology Group to host a Wetland Conservation Event, blending ecological exploration with habitat protection. We invited employees and their families to participate in hands-on actions to safeguard natural ecosystems.
During the event, professional ecological instructors guided participants in exploring the biodiversity and ecological functions of wetlands. Through interactive tours, employees gained a deeper understanding of the vital role wetlands play in environmental balance. The program also included on-site habitat maintenance and restoration actions, contributing to ecological recovery and environmental regeneration.
We recognize that wetlands play a crucial role in climate regulation, water purification, flood control, and carbon sequestration (carbon sinks). Initiatives like these are not only a demonstration of corporate responsibility but also a long-term commitment to global sustainability. Through this engagement, FIH fosters a culture of "Understanding, Cherishing, and Acting" to protect our planet.
